Ten minutes of the nightly news with their fear and drama focus is enough to make one ask: “What is going on? Is anything worth anything? Does my life even matter?”! As we have continued to work more, play harder, travel more and farther, eat out more, and sleep less, our stress levels have increased significantly
We live in a society that goes for the quick fix, the pharmaceutical solution, the ‘cut it out’ surgically, and the focusing on the symptoms rather than the cause of the difficult and painful aspects of our lives, whether they be physical, emotional or psychological. We tend to try and numb it, ignore it, block it out, cut it out, wish it away, push it off, etc. I am here to tell you: There is another way!!! Over the last 12 years I have been practicing something I call the Gratitude Process. The short description is that by systematically focusing our attention on the things we are GRATEFUL for in our lives and utilizing certain specific exercises for just a few minutes a day, one’s life can change for the better dramatically and in literally a few days, hours or a few moments!
