Abundance is not something we acquire. It is something we tune into.
~Wayne Dyer

The Source is All Good, its unlimited supply is richly flowing into my life and the lives of all who have the eyes to see the True Abundance. My Source is All Sufficient and the bounty is fruitful. All evidence to the contrary is temporary, and erased from my mind because I know The Truth of my prosperity. I choose not to focus my attention on lack, or shortage of any kind. It does not exist for me. When I choose my power over doubt, I win every time. Directing the power of my attention on Life’s fullness, that fullness is alive within me, vibrating plenty throughout my life and beyond. My abundance is abundance for the world itself. When I focus on the abundance I witness, the prosperity I feel, the appreciation that emanates from me, I am in my Vortex. I strongly feel the Goodness inside me, working in my life to release all resistance and allow the energy to flow freely and beautifully. I am open to the prosperity coming to me in unexpected, unimagined ways. I am inspired by the thoughts of my untapped potential. I see how focusing on my True Abundance creates new pathways in my Mind that will lead to more possibilities for my life. My Being is One with all the Beauty that exists once I vibrate Beauty within. I am confident that whatever I desire authentically — with no ‘neediness’ — will come to me. I know all I have to do is ask and I will receive. It is done. Goodness comes to me in the form of health, happiness, relationships, abundance, prosperity, peace, and of course money. I am so grateful that this is the Truth, that this is how I live, that this is what I remember and vibrate all the days of my life.

The universe operates through dynamic exchange… giving and receiving are different aspects of the flow of energy in the universe. and in our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives.

“An affirmation is a strong, positive statement that something is already so.” ~Shakti Gawain

This week’s show was On The Power of Creative Visualization: Listen to In the Mind’s Eye (Where Pigs CAN Fly!) here.

Do you visualize? I bet you do. Even if you are not aware of it, we humans do it all day long. Thinking about the future — who will be there, when will they be there, what it will be like, will we have traffic, will it be fun?

The Mind is always running, if we can channel that power into a creative visualization practice, in which we are seeing in our minds eye what we want to experience, then we will be bring it closer, while we simultaneously take steps towards it.

As we were exploring the concepts during the show, I made a mental note that I wanted to experiment with some creative visualization the next day. So, I did just that. I spent about 20 minutes reading Louise Hay Wealth Affirmations, picking the ones I liked most, and repeating them as I walked during a beautiful fall day with my iPod on. It felt great the whole time — no resistance to the practice, just breathing, walking, feeling the sun, repeating the affirmations with no real focus other than occasionally as I was doing the incantations I would picture in minds eye something that the words would inspire, such as someone handing me a check for a large sum of money for some marketing services rendered. Twenty minutes after I got back from walk I got a call from someone that I haven’t spoken to in a year who happened to have several thousand dollars of business for me. It was a very cool manifestation. However, the real sweet spot for me here was that I was experiencing desire for abundance as I was doing the work and visualizing, yet, I was never feeling like anything was missing either. I did not ‘need’ the abundance in that moment one bit. I was so enjoying nature — the fresh cool fall air, the sky, the small of leaves, the visions of them falling all around me. I was completely in my vortex, regardless of what did or didn’t happen with the abundance incantations.

I believe that this sweet spot of desiring without any attachment or need of the abundance to come through actually created a possibility that had a direct pathway to receiving it. I think I am going to commit to more creative visualization and abundance affirmations from Louise Hay! :)

By the way, there is an AMAZING book on this subject that I highly recommend: Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain

Love. We use this word often, and many times it’s said with no thought or feeling of what it actually means. The definition of the word ‘love’ is:

  1. a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
  2. a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend.
  3. sexual passion or desire.
  4. a person toward whom love is felt; beloved person; sweetheart.

Clarity on Forgiveness

September 9th, 2011

Last night we had the limitless Jeannette Maw on our show as we do every month, and she was awesome as she always is! Forgiveness has been a lifelong experience for me. I have needed to forgive and be forgiven many times in this life. Some of which I go into in my previous post on Forgiveness.

I was not always as kind as I aim to be at this stage in my life. When I was younger I was often angry and on occasion did some pretty unpleasant things. I have had to ask for forgiveness and I have had to forgive myself for many of these actions, words and even thoughts that are too terrible to state here. Through these experiences, I have no doubt that I am now a ‘better’ person — by better I mean to say that I am more aware, more connected, I understand more about my Self and the world. I am even grateful for some of these experiences because of the deep learning that has occurred as a result of the actions I have taken. Life is a prism of experiences, and if we have the awareness to do so, we can see how each and every word, action and thought reveals how we feel, what we want and what that is for others. I believe Forgiveness to be one the Greatest Teachers life has to offer.

On last night’s Matt and Phil show we really delve into this topic as it relates to the ‘9/11 Experience.’ (See Jeannette, I’m expanding my point of view! lol!) We go into the vibrational aspects of Forgiveness, The Course in Miracles take and some steps that we all use to work with Forgiveness or as Jeannette says: “Just skip it.”

Probably one of the most interesting shows we have done so far. Morality and Ethics are very interesting topics when you filter it through spirituality, quantum physics and The Law of Attraction. I have to say I don’t often think of these 2 topics all that often, I am focused on what’s GOOD, Morality and Ethics usually feel like they are vibrating more on what’s wrong and what needs to be changed rather than making peace with what is and aiming for more.

Truth be told, I am not interested in focusing on what’s wrong with my Self or others Selves, I am interested in finding the best in my Self and in others, while aiming, hoping, praying, visualizing and believing that we can all get better and if we work at it a little bit everyday that it will happen. I see how if we focus on what we think needs to be changed, we have to first judge or criticize and say: “OK, this is wrong.” The more we linger in that vibration the more we are going to be ‘asking’ for that in our lives. Instead we can make another choice look in a different direction and ‘Turn our Cheek’. This way our channel of attraction is going to be focused on what we want rather than commiserating, analyzing, thinking and feeling about what we expressly do not want!

I am looking forward to this show in a big way because this has been a question I have battled with throughout my life. Whose ‘morality’ are we talking about? Aren’t morals and ethics simply just ideas that have been passed down through our parents, family and society at large?

When I was young, it was the 10 Commandments — and what did they really mean and what were they really supposed to be used for? A system whereby we can judge ourselves and others? Obviously, I don’t think that killing, lying, stealing, etc., are good things but have we ever taken the time to really explore what these ideas mean to us? Have we ever done any of it? Last time I checked it does not specify that its OK to do sometimes, etc.

Here in the US, it seems just fine to kill as long as we are doing it in the name of protecting US citizens, and being a military veteran I know that on some level I had this as a belief and I did feel that I was doing something ‘good’ by joining the military in an effort to protect my family, friends and country.

Phil and I will break this down and explore the roots of Morality, Ethics, and The Law of Attraction tonight on our show: Morality and LOA

The Nature Of Desire

June 27th, 2011

Back when I first became introduced to the Abraham-Hicks teachings I was really jolted by their take on desire. While I didn’t quite embrace the idea that desire was the “root of all suffering” as I had heard from others, my personal philosophy was probably closer to that than the vibration Abraham was representing. Rather than something to be tamed or controlled, if not out and out denied, desire, according to Abraham is not only a good thing — it is the very engine that drives the expansion of the Universe! Furthermore, without it the Universe would cease to be! WHAT?! How could that be? Aren’t people constantly fretting over something they want but don’t have? Aren’t we hurting and killing each other in wars because we think that will make getting what we want easier?
What about greed? Aren’t some people taking advantage of others and exploiting them and our planet for profit?

The more I listed to what Abraham was saying, however, their gentle but powerful message began to settle in with me. The problem wasn’t with desire; the problem was that most desires were going unmet due to a lack of understanding of the universal laws of attraction and allowance. Add that to the misguided attachment that says “I CAN’T be happy/whole/loved/safe/secure unless this specific desire is met and FAST”, and you have a great recipe for unhappiness, frustration and the whole range of negative emotions. Deep down we all intuitively know that every desire that we have, from the slightest preference to the greatest raging desire is ours for the asking. Ask and it is given, knock and the door shall be answered. Abundance in all of its forms is our birthright.

But when we don’t get what we want and haven’t taken the time to reconnect to who we really are and what that means, we blame all kinds things for our unsatisfied desires – our parents, our governments, big business, religion, etc.

Since for most people it is easier to “ratchet down” or abandon a desire altogether than come into vibrational resonance with it (Law of Allowing) which would allow it to manifest quickly, many spiritual traditions have emphasized reducing or eliminating desire. The problem is that the Universe is designed to constantly evoke new desires in us — to deny desire is to deny our essential nature as creative beings — extensions of the God-force which is responsible for all of creation. In order to create we must have a focus, and desire creates the focal point. The truth is that even the desire to have no desire is still a desire!

Not getting what we want is so common that thoughts like “wanting is not getting”, “you can’t always get what you want”, “money doesn’t grow on trees”, “no pain, no gain” permeate our culture and our collective consciousness. We know that our thoughts are attractive — what we think about comes about — so what kind of experiences are we setting ourselves up to have if we are offering thoughts like the ones above?

In this time of awakening we have the opportunity to rewire these antiquated beliefs and learn how to come into harmony with our desires. Doing so will allow us to live the lives we were born to live — lives of abundance in every way we can conjure, lives that reflect our true, unlimited nature.

~Phil Giuliano

Money, money, money. A big part of lives, huh? We are always thinking:

“Do I have enough?”

“ I wish I could have more.”

“How do I get more?”

“Why do they have so much?!”

And so on and so on….

During this show we answer such questions as:

“What can I do right now, today to create more prosperity in my life?”

“What is the most important thing I can do to attract more money into my life?”

“How can I create more abundance in all areas of my life?”

“What am I doing wrong????!”

There are some very simple but super powerful practices that we will be discussing, be sure to tune in at 730 pm EDT or download anytime at: What Recession? Staying Positive In a Tough Economy

It’s so interesting to me how much I love doing this radio show. Before we launched I couldn’t even imagine how we could get to 70+ different topics all related to The Law of Attraction. However, I had a VERY powerful desire to create a radio show on LOA and Spirituality, and I was either going to start one completely on my own or find someone else. I just knew that I had to do it; I knew it was part of my destiny. When I thought about it, I got so excited, I felt aligned with it, I felt awakened and enlivened by the idea. Because of that experience I just knew I had to do it. I made a decision that no matter what I was going to do it. I finally(!) got Phil on board and the Matt and Phil LOA Show was born.

In the latest show, Hop on the Streetcar named Pure Desire, Phil and I go deep into the topic of Deep Desires, Destiny, Focus and how the LOA factors into this process. We also discuss the idea that desires that we are ‘attached’ to are the ones we have to look most deeply at to understand how to stay aligned and connected in healthy ways. Listen in and let us know what you think we REALLY want to hear from our listeners so we can give you more of the subjects you want to listen in about.

Is LOA a Religion?

June 10th, 2011

Religion (as defined by dictionary.com)

A set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

This is a question that a friend posed to me recently on Facebook. Matt and I discussed this on our recent “LOA and Religion” show, which aired on 6/7/11. It seems to me that the belief in LOA is not a religion, but rather a philosophy of life that is the logical extension of the understanding of the Law of Attraction. Even the word “belief” is kind of a misrepresentation — I don’t need to believe in LOA anymore than I need to believe in gravity. Whether or not I “believe”, both are constantly at work and are being applied indiscriminately. If I jump out of an airplane I will fall to the ground regardless of how I feel about gravity. I would also like to point out that for many thousands of years gravity was in effect, even though there was no scientific or mathematical explanation for it. Likewise, even though we may not be at the point where we can observe and measure the subtle energies that the LOA is impacting that doesn’t make it any less real than gravity was before Newton came along to explain it.

My point is that my acceptance of LOA is based upon observation, not faith. There is no dogma, no “devotional and ritual observance” and no moral codes. Of course people are free to attach such things to LOA and I have no judgment of those who choose to do so. I readily admit that the teachings of Abraham-Hicks do involve a “superhuman agency” (the Universe) and the teachings can be described as “a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe”.

Since, however, the teachings are lacking the devotion, worship, ritual and moral codes (rules) that truly define religion and distinguish it from a spiritual philosphy; I cannot describe those who chose to adopt the teachings as practicing a LOA based religion.

The Power of Peace

June 8th, 2011

Let us call a truce to terror. Let us invoke the blessings of peace. And as we build an international capacity to keep peace, let us join in dismantling the national capacity to wage war.
- JFK, September 25, 1961

Below is a guest blog post from my radio show co-host Phil Giuliano, we were both moved by our show on PEACE and I am proud to share with you his post:

The Power of Peace

Peace is often thought to be the absence of violence or conflict, and of course that is true. But it is also something deeper — it is the presence of well being without resistance. In other words it’s a state of being that is characterized by allowance, the free flow of our divine self relatively unimpeded by thoughts, feeling and actions that would contradict that vibration. “Making peace” is a funny term since peace can’t really be made — it’s already there, waiting patiently for the opportunity to take us in it’s embrace and nurture us with the full knowing that all is well.

Peace can be challenging because we are often action based beings motivated to protect ourselves. Often that motivation is charged with fear or worry, frustration or anger. We often equate peace with weakness and the unwillingness to meet another’s negatively charged words or actions with something of a similar vibration to reflect uncaring, passivity and a willingness to be taken advantage of. We are told we must stand strong, never comprehending that often when we do so we leave our true strength, our connection to all-that-is, behind. The universe will not put it’s power behind a vibration of fear, anger, worry or frustration because it can’t — those vibrations are just too different from the love and peace that is the true composition of the universe. When we linger in those states we can feel isolated — which is merely the distance we have temporarily put between ourselves and our source. We have not been forsaken — the peace of God/source/universe is there always, extending itself towards us with infinite patience waiting only for us to answer the call and return the embrace.

Peace is the Way

June 2nd, 2011

I have told you these things, so that you may have Peace. – Jesus

Peace is underrated! Phil and I discussed on the show how Peace is just not that ‘sexy’ in our whirlwind world of media and perhaps it never has been. Regardless, I think its important and I certainly don’t mind being a voice in the wilderness. Here are some definitions of Peace:

  • a state of mutual harmony between people or groups, especially in personal relations
  • untroubled; tranquil; content

Doesn’t sound too bad, right? Yet, how often do you hear people focusing on Peace? JFK seemed to talk about it, Gandhi and Jesus certainly, MLK quite a bit, and John and his friends were asking the world to just give Peace a chance!

Well, Phil and I did for this weeks show! Give a listen and let us know what you think, with your feedback we can serve you best!

Listen to internet radio with LOA Weekly Talk on Blog Talk Radio

More on Peace….

I believe that if we apply more focus to anything in our lives, we make that thing bigger. What would happen if we focused more on Peace? In theory, we would be more peaceful. However, in my experience it is much more than that. Peacefulness is transforming process, as we really begin to relax into the deeper levels of our consciousness we see how practical being peaceful really is.

Before making important decisions, business and personal, I aim to get peaceful first and I find that the choice becomes much clearer. With todays Twitterific-Facebooked-Cell-Phone world its often hard for us to find a few moments to get peaceful. I suggest scheduling at least 5 minutes a day solely to focus on Peace, to really feel it inside our bodies, minds and hearts with the knowing that we are then radiating this Peace outward to the rest of the world.

Can you give Peace a chance? :)

All is Well

May 31st, 2011

“When we are unable to find tranquility within ourselves, it is useless to seek it elsewhere.” – Francois De La Rochefoucauld

This weeks show, entitled “All is Well”, is really a fascinating topic that gave me big trouble when I was first exposed to the idea. Jeannette Maw, Phil and I really get into it! When we come from the basic LOA philosophy, that what we what think, feel, speak and act about is what is drawn in to our lives, the above quote really starts to make sense. We are often focused on the outside aspects of our lives when the truth of our lives lies within — within our Minds and Hearts. If we stay focused on what we don’t like, what is ‘wrong’ — the terrors of the world, the natural disasters, the lack, the confusion, the diseases, etc. — THAT is the vibration we are inviting into our lives.

As I have retreated farther and farther away from ‘news’ I find that my life gets better, and better, and better… I have had people say to me: “Don’t you want to be informed?!” or something similar when I let them know that I don’t watch news or read newspapers. Truth is, my answer is: “No”. I really don’t want to be ‘informed’ if the ‘terrors’ of the world are what’s most important to people.

I wonder what the world would look like if we had un-religious holidays that celebrated the Good and the Beautiful, we had off from work to do whatever wanted that had to do with Goodness and Beauty, and that’s all we were to focus on all day. Instead, we have holidays for wars, sad days that we honor people who have died, political, governmental, etc. Of course we have some great days like Mother’s day and Birthdays, but are we really focused on Beauty and Goodness and how ‘All is Well’ during these days? For the most part, I think not. There is a simple formula:

Thoughts + Feelings + Beliefs = Our Perspective = Our Lives

If we focus on terror, life will give us terror; if we focus on beauty, life will give us beauty. If we believe and have faith that ultimately ‘All is Well’… All will be well! Listen in, we would love to hear what you think!

There is Much to Learn

May 23rd, 2011

After a busy weekend of a wonderful Bat Mizvah experience, a family birthday party, and a bunch of work this weekend, I needed to take a break and get some distraction. I decided to go see the movie Thor, because over time I have become a big fan of Natalie Portman (and Kat Dennings!) especially after Black Swan and not just because of Mila Kunis! Forgive me, I digress!

There are two lines out of the movie that made the whole experience worth it. The first one comes at a point in the movie when Thor has been humbled — despite having just saved the Universe — and is talking to his father. He says: “There is much to learn.” (Agreed!) A simple statement, yet when taken in and contemplated I found it full of wisdom. We are always growing and changing, as humans it is part of who we are going through being an infant, a toddler, a young child, a teenager, a young adult and then (I am guessing) around 50 we become an wise adult! :) (I am pushing 40 and still feel 19 most of time, although my looks have changed somewhat!)

My point is that we are often caught up with what has gone by in past, and meanwhile as we are focused on that past — what was wrong in our childhood, or last year, or last week, or yesterday or 5 minutes ago — we are missing the NOW. All of life happens in the present moment. Rather than being focused on what did or didn’t know — the bad decision, the bad relationship, or job, or parents, etc. — focus on the now, and what can be done now, and what you are going to do next. All the power of the world is in the present moment. To save the Universe, Thor was not focused on how his parents didn’t love him enough or how what a jerk his last boss was!

I was reminded that there is wisdom everywhere — if we have the eyes to see it and ears hear it — even in a mostly boring 3D Hollywood action movie. Truth is, it did exactly what I hoped (see distraction, Natalie and Kat above) and gave me even more. The second quote that came from the Sentry to the Einstein-Rosen Bridge (see this link if you would like to learn more about this fascinating subject) aka “wormhole”: “There is Always Hope.” If we truly believe that simple statement, and take it at its most powerful definition, anything is possible, truly anything.

Jealousy is the dragon in paradise; the hell of heaven; and the most bitter of the emotions because associated with the sweetest. – A.R. Orage

Well, who knew the show on ‘Jealousy’ would end up a rip-roar(is that a word?)!? Be sure to ask us over coffee (or wine) about the “Water-Keyboard-Jesus!”(in gospel voice) story, it was hysterical! Welcome to the show, Katie!

The show itself was a good time, too! Listen, jealousy/envy/coveting ain’t ever an easy subject to discuss, but I have to tell ya, if I am ever going to discuss I want to do it the same way we did tonight. Phil, Laura, Katie and I were laughing before the show started and on the way out the door as well. Taking life too seriously is way over-rated! And I know it’s not all fun ‘n games but it could be ya know! Even though not everyone is on the same wave length, you can have your own inner knowing of joy no matter what is going on around you if you know how to generate it the first place.

I loved the conversation, Laura brought to us tonight, the topic washer brainchild. I was so much fun to jump into something so juicy, raw and primal as “Jealousy” — where it can take us, how we can work with it, and how it can actually help us. Yes, you read correctly, HELP us.

True awareness helps every aspect of our lives holistically and holographically. At times, peering deep into our Shadow side — the parts we don’t like to visit much — can help even a little bit of Light Awareness to go a very long way into our Inner Knowing Bank account. I think this especially applies to “Jealousy” in our lives, we can either allow it to run in our lives unconsciously or we can peek at it to see if its really the Tiger that is going to eat us, and potentially be at peace with what is, regardless of what we are experiencing.

We would love to get your take on the show and what you thought of the topic, let us know!

Thanks, Laugh Well and Breathe!

The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet. ~James Openheim

Last night’s show was a very intimate experience for me. You see, I wasn’t always as happy as I am now. I was sad, I was mad, and generally I was pissed off at the world, and anyone who got to me know me well, knew this about me. I tried to hide it, sometimes, when I could. Truth is everyday was hard, my mind racing about all the things that were wrong with my family, friends, girlfriends, my jobs, society, the universe and especially what was wrong with God. How could he/she…

Well, that is all in the past now. It took some time, some hard falls, and even deeper disappointments. Yet, I can truly say that I am happy now. I desire things and I want more for my life. However, there is an abiding overall general happiness that I wake up with everyday and stays with me for most of my days. I am certainly no robot. I still have some sad or unhappy periods, but they are short, usually gone within moments. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to explore and become aware of what I am feeling and remember that I am part of the Source, having a human experience. In those moments I aim to remember that all of my life occurs in my Mind, in my Heart, inside me. I am the only one who can change what I am feeling. I am the only one who can reach for a better feeling or thought. I am the only one who can allow happiness, joy and prosperity. Me, only me!

It’s the same for all of us, only WE can hold back happiness from ourselves. It’s easier to blame, to point the finger — I know, I did for many years, and trust me, that only leads to dark places. It takes my daily practices of connecting to who I Am and what I want and who I love, and what my Life Purpose is all about, yet, it is possible to be happy almost all of the time!

I like living this way much better than in the darkness of my shadow. Listen in to our show on happiness, we would love to get your feedback so comment on this post or shoot me an email.

The Master acts without doing anything and teaches without saying anything. – Tao Te Ching

We have had so many great guests on the Matt and Phil Show in the past few months: Gabrielle Bernstein, Joe Nunziata, Jeannette Maw, Suyin Nichols to name a few. Dan Howard was no exception — what an amazing individual. I admit, I was expecting a great show, however, I was NOT expecting to be blown away by Dan. The power, presence and space that this man holds as he speaks and really gets into his Vortex is astounding.

Dan is ‘The Resting Guy.’ You can see more about him at his website, IntentionalResting.com. Dan has a very powerful process in working with his clients using his process of ‘rest’ to bring awareness to things such as fear, stress, and life purpose. Phil and I were both surprised by how powerful this interview was. What was no surprise Dan is a former energy worker. This certainly seems to have created the perfect space for him to become ‘The Resting Guy.’

Dan was generous enough to give us a 20% discount off of his Well Rested Package, which is packed full of value with a video workshop, audio recordings and emails delivered to you every day for 30 days. You can order that here, just put in the promo code of: restloa

I highly recommend that you listen to our interview with Dan below, truly learning how to rest can be a life transforming tool. Couldn’t you use more peacefulness, stillness, and being in your life? :)

Worry is wishing for what we don’t want! – Suyin Nichols

Suyin was on with us a few months ago when we had our panel on Nutrition and she really made an impression on us. She is funny, smart and is a terrific Body Image and Thought Coach who helps people lose weight and become happier with their bodies by changing their thoughts.

This is an interesting concept considering the billions spent on pharmaceuticals, supplements, weight loss gurus, gyms, programs, diets, equipment, etc., every few months! Is it really possible to change our thoughts, get healthier, be our most comfortable and healthy weight, and get happier in the process? Well, Suyin sure thinks so.

She was also featured in a weight loss documentary much like The Secret called The Inner Weigh with Bob Proctor and some other famous people in the Self Development world.

Listen in to Phil and I interview Suyin on how she works with clients and why she believes that as we change our thoughts about our weight and health, our physical condition also changes. Be sure to check out Suyin’s site as well: SuyinNichols.com

The Beauty of Hope

April 26th, 2011

Once you choose hope, anything is possible. ~Christopher Reeve

Quite often I read about, contemplate and experiment with belief — or faith, envisioning, etc. It is an endeavor that I highly recommend! While exploring these subjects, I have come across a discovery in this High Science that has made the ideas, concept and practice of belief and faith much more interesting. That discovery is: Hope.

It’s a very interesting experience, Hope. Sometimes it seems weak; when I say it out loud it doesn’t seem confident. Yet, as I think more of it, I can see that it’s delicate somehow — vulnerable even. Just as George expresses in the quote below, Hope has an interesting character.

What is ‘Hope’ anyway?

Here is a dictionary definition of ‘Hope’:

“The feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best.”

So many spiritual teachers out there direct most, if not all of their focus on belief, faith, visualization, and so on. Those are all spectacular areas of study, and are absolutely necessary if we are to really advance in the continued understanding of desire and fulfillment. However, I am becoming more and more intrigued with Hope. Interestingly, even when I was less exposed to philosophy, spirituality and self development, I was often focused on hope as I moved through life. In my teen years, for example, things seemed so dark most of the time that I found myself reaching for hope around so many things that I desired in life.

As I have watched the wide range of emotions that course through my body, my mind and my heart throughout the years, I realize that I have overlooked the Beauty of Hope. Life is full of contrast and it is absolutely necessary in its perfect design. Hope is so beautiful because it’s the first feeling that we experience when we are transitioning from having the Universe at our backs. It’s the first feeling that starts to position us in the Light. It’s the first feeling we experience in the relief and the release of negative emotions that are holding us down, as we are stuck and unable to move the energy of a situation.

I am going to focus more of my attention on the beauty of hope in my life around any and all subjects, large and small. I have hope and the belief and the faith that in focusing on hope more often, more deeply, and more gratefully, I will receive those benefits more abundantly! Will you join me? :)

I have met Frank Butterfield, interviewed him, and had dinner with him in a group, and have found him to be a genuinely smart, humorous, and humble guy. However, what comes through him when he speaks about spirituality and the Community of Light works with him to create something super powerful and profound. It was fascinating to me how, as we would pose questions — which I did first on the subject of Self Love — the information was so moving and inspiring, I was forgetting that I was hosting a radio show! I am re-listening to the show now and parts of it are like listening for the first time! :)

We have had many powerful shows in the 14 months we have been doing the Matt and Phil LOA Show, and I think this is one of the best in the sense of the quality of the information and the level of resonance with the questions that were asked. If you are interested in learning how to love yourself more deeply(or at all!) understanding what ‘Self Love’ actually is and power that is available when we are experiencing, feeling, sending out and receiving the vibration of Love, please listen to this show. Until one really starts to explore this process it’s hard to imagine how truly transformational it can really be. It’s not a conceited, I am so full of myself, ego-type of love. It’s a healing, relaxing, obstacle-removing experience that is available no matter where are or what we are doing.

I hope you join us in this journey. We would be honored to hear your feedback so feel free to comment or send an email. In Self Love I Trust!

51%, Our Focus is our Life

April 17th, 2011

“Nothing comes from without. All things come from within.” – Neville Goddard

I just left a marketing client who I have been working with for over year. She has created a nice little business for herself, and she is great fun so I love working with her. However, she is having some financial challenges right now, and proceeded to tell me all about the issues she is facing and railing against. When I say her focus is on what she does not want, I mean to say in a really big way! We talked for about an hour — I would say 80% of that time was focused on lack, limitation, fear, confusion, concern, ‘too busy’. I spent a few minutes asking her what was going well, and attempting to bring her back to see what good things were happening and to remember the progress she has made since we started working together. This did change the vibe somewhat and she seemed more hopeful about what is possible going forward.

I am always shocked by this ‘not having enough time’. If we are too busy running our small businesses how does Oprah do it? Obama? Trump? Where do they find the time to run their lives and their businesses and their lives? It’s really quite ludicrous. The truth is it’s all about our focus. Whatever we continue to focus on gets bigger and bigger and bigger.

As she was talking I was reminded of something I read recently in The Power, by Rhonda Byrne (author of The Secret). In this book she discusses the “The Tipping Point”:

“If you give more than 50% positive thoughts and feelings instead of negative, you have reached the Tipping Point. Even if you just give 51% of good thoughts and good feelings, you have tipped the scales of your life!”

- from The Power, by Rhonda Byrne, page 52

I loved this because it’s a really simple, straight forward and applicable way to think about it. So, using this theory all we really need to do is get to 51% of WHAT WE DO WANT and then we will start to see more of that in our lives. Wow! Could this really be true.? Just 51%? Doesn’t sound so difficult, does it? I feel that if it’s that simple, it’s attainable. If I can just keep my thoughts and feelings focused 51% of the time on what I want and not what I don’t want, I will receive more of what I do want than what I don’t.

So, with this idea in place the next logical place to apply is all the areas of my life, especially the areas that need more help than others! Which are those areas for you? I hope you join me on the path to 51%!

Last night was a surprisingly powerful show. I have met Joe Nunziata a few times before, and Phil and I took a workshop in NYC that he gave with Karen Garvey a few years ago. He was great at that event, but last night Joe’s authenticity showed through in a way that I wasn’t expecting.

Joe is a powerful, authentic, heart-centered teacher. We discussed LOA from my favorite perspective, from the Feeling perspective. In my opinion that is one of the most common mistakes in most beginner LOA practices. It is usually a very new experience to be observing meticulously how we FEEL essentially all throughout the day! This practice is where it’s at!

Listen in below to Phil and I interview Joe about his experiences with clients and his own spiritual development.

Consciousness is the ground of being. – Amit Goswami

Wow, well I just finished the movie “Quantum Activist” starring Amit Goswami — who became famous for his role in the “What the bleep do we know?!” movie. I was expecting an enjoyable experience of a documentary on quantum physics, boy was I wrong!

This movie is a magnificent piece on society, spirituality, mysticism, science and how it all relates to Quantum Physics (QP). It begins with an explanation of what QP is and how it differs from material science, however, it gets deep into how we have been focusing science on the wrong thing, thinking about the material first. He believes that we need to focus on Consciousness first and follow what the mystics have been saying for millennia, that the physical arises from the Consciousness, God, The Source, whatever you want to call it. NOT the other way around. The same way that those of us focused on the Law of Attraction believe, that our thoughts and feelings create our lives.

To hear such a successful and renowned physicist speak this way about science, society and how our minds work really blew me into the stratosphere, I had tears of joy streaming down my face at the end because he and I have a similar vision for the planet. One where Heaven really is on earth, as he says in his quote below.

Dr. Goswami continues to point out that the only way there will ever be a real evolution on this planet is if we practice Peace and Love through meditation and prayer. By doing this and learning how to apply math to this new science we will be changing the Consciousness of future generations. I am very inspired by this concept and I think you will be too if you watch this movie!

While on my annual ski trip vacation I started writing the follow up blog post for this past week’s radio show and somehow it turned into pages and pages of information! So, that is going to become a future e-book all about attracting in great vacations and how to keep attracting amazing things once you get on the vacation.

As far as the show goes, Phil and I discuss many different aspects of LOA on the show this week and for me the most important aspect is the: “Releasing of Resistance”. Whenever we can do this in our lives — regardless of the subject — we are opening ourselves up to feeling better, and once we begin to feel better, the outcome we hope for in any situation is starting to move towards us. When we are resistant — or tight, fearful, stressed, etc. — it’s as if we have our arms up and we are pushing back against All that Is, which is actually trying to give us what we want.

The first step is to relax our bodies. It’s heaviest aspect of who we are, it makes sense to start there by relaxing our bellies, our shoulders, our jaw, our chest and back. Even our toes and feet can be parts of our bodies that tighten up as we work on the computer, are driving, or having an uncomfortable conversation! :) If we practice relaxing our bodies, our inner feeling can then become more smooth and receptive to what’s available from our intuition. It also creates more of an opportunity to FEEL GOOD. Isn’t that what we all want, regardless of the details?

Listen in to Phil and I discuss this in more detail (below).

When?

March 21st, 2011

“Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so you shall become. Your vision is the promise of what you shall one day be; your ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil.” – James Allen

After working many hours on Friday, I felt tired by around 6pm. I noticed myself telling the story of my tiredness over and over — lulling myself — and, to a certain degree, I put out quite a bit of effort doing so. However, I noticed how each time I heard my mind repeat the ‘story of tiredness’ I would get a little more tired, and so on.

I am really the driving force behind what I am feeling. If I told a different story, would that change my tiredness level? Well, I have experimented with this many times and 100% of the time it works. I started to say “Yes, I worked hard today but it was a good day; and yes, I worked out for over 1.5 hrs but that was an invigorating and healthy choice; I actually feel pretty good, I am so glad my health is good, I am thankful that my mind is alert enough to notice what I am noticing…” etc. Basically, I said anything to myself that felt ‘Up’ from being tired. I told a new story. Immediately, I started to feel less tired — I stretched a little, I got up from the computer, I drank a glass of water and I put a cup of tea on. After just a few minutes of consciously telling a new story, tiredness was a distant memory, and I didn’t feel tired again until about 11 p.m. that night!

When will you start telling the new story for YOUR life?

It doesn’t just work by wishing it so, and depending on how you’re wishing, you could be wishing it away, instead of bringing yourself into alignment with whatever it is that you want. Somehow, when we say “I am tired” — or rich, or sexy, or at One with God, ugly, hateful, etc. — that is where the power comes from. So, we should tell ourselves a new story, instead of “I am tired” — or poor, sad, ashamed, not worthy, too old, too alone, or too much of any other kind of thing most of us don’t want. Instead, tell yourself about what you do want: “I am confident, I am alive, I am healthy, I am proud, I am strong, I am intelligent, I am emotionally intelligent, I am wealthy, I am sexy, I am worthy, I am beautiful, I am fun, I am a good, dynamic public speaker(Ahem, sorry that’s my personal affirmation!).”

So, When?

When will you start telling that new story? Next week, next year, after I am dead?! Yes, it must be now, today, in this moment. Pick something, anything, and begin to tell a new story. This is faith in action, don’t deliberate about it, just do it baby! :)

It may be about anything: your finances, your husband, your job, your girlfriend, your health, your happiness, etc. If it’s finances, instead of “I cant believe these bills how will I ever pay them all?!”, say to yourself, “I am just going to pay right now what I can”, and soon after you’ll be saying, “I am getting better at this bill paying thing”, and finally, “I am so completely at one and so damn much in love with myself and my life that I don’t even care about bills cause I am so rich in my life, my house, my cars, my family, my physical body, I am in the best shape of my life, and I love my work, my company, etc!”

We all have stories that need to be re-told if we they are ones that we don’t like, don’t make us feel good, or keep us trapped in a bad job or relationship, or deal with some sort of physical or emotional bully.

You are the author of your own life! Start to tell yourself a different story of what you want to see — use the details, the feelings, the sensations, the sights, the sounds, the smells of this new story. Write it down! Become the author of this new story, believe it, have faith in it, and I bet its closer than you think! Write down the 1 liner and keep it in your pocket or in your phone and re-read it everyday when you wake up and before you go to bed. Dream about your new life, and know that it’s coming to you.

What will the new story be for you?

And When will you start telling it? How about Now?! :)

“Most people are not really free. They are confined by the niche in the world that they carve out for themselves. They limit themselves to fewer possibilities by the narrowness of their vision.” – VS NaiPaul

It truly has been a wonderment to sit back and watch all the stir, buzz, and attention Charlie has been getting these past few weeks. Sirius even dedicated a station just to him, “Tiger Blood Radio”!

And it seems the more outrageous he is, the more attention he gets. It doesn’t matter if it’s “positive” or “negative” attention — we who understand how the law of attraction works know that ANY focus on a topic makes it grow — from the LOA perspective, focus on anything is a big, fat, YES to the Universe! So the stream of energy that is the “Charlie Sheen phenomena” just keeps getting bigger, faster and stronger and he is more famous now than he has ever been.

This is not an endorsement of the choices CS has made in his life. As a teacher of LOA, I don’t believe it’s really any of my business to comment on what another master creator ( we’re ALL master creators!) has decided to create — but I do admire the unapologetic stance he has taken with those who want to criticize or put labels on him and his behavior. I believe that’s what is driving the dizzying amount of attention and publicity — we admire (or perhaps envy) the freedom with which he is approaching his life, because deep down we all know that we ARE truly FREE beings, but we often ACT as if we are not! We let social convention, the thoughts of others, financial pressures, social mores, laws, beliefs and other untold factors, including past conditioning become the round hole into which uniquely shaped pegs we never intended to fit. Then, along comes the outlaw who just doesn’t give a damn and we cheer him on with the most powerful tool we have, our attention, as some part of us yearns to reclaim our freedom and live out our birthright.

Long live the rascals and the outlaws — they are an important part of this tapestry we call life on the physical plane. Like all things they can be yet another reason to live more, love more and expand joyously or one to constrict. The choice is ours, not theirs.

The Angry and the Beautiful

March 1st, 2011

“It is very important to understand that emotional intelligence is not the opposite of intelligence, it is not the triumph of heart over head — it is the unique intersection of both.” – David Caruso, Emotional What?

Anger is a word that I rarely even think about anymore. I usually don’t feel anger like I used to back in my teens and 20’s — back then it was, at times, so pervasive I couldn’t see anything but Anger. I entitled this post The Angry and the Beautiful because I think we tend to forget that we can often sow seeds of Anger, and if we nurture the soil enough those seeds can be some of the most beautiful blossoms we may experience here in this life. Truth be told, I chose ‘Anger’ because that was an experience of mine today, but you can insert any ‘negative’ emotion here and say the same thing — Hatred, Depression, Frustration, Fear, Confusion, Anxiety, Jealousy, Boredom, Nervous, Worrying, Stressed, etc. These ‘negative’ emotions often create the DESIRE to have a different experience, and that’s all that we really have going on — but when we pepper in some self hatred, along with all the things society says about negative emotions, the resulting combo is a recipe for some serious psychological stress! Often times it’s a below-the-surface fear or anxiety — especially in America, the Beautiful, where we have easy access to so much luxury, gluttony, and over indulgence! It may take some time, or it may never reveal its ugly head to the public, but we all the know the truth, don’t we?????

NOBODY IS PERFECT! We all have our own ‘stuff’, get over it! ‘Cause that ‘stuff’ is actually gold and diamonds, if you know how to use it. It’s the fertilizer, if you will, for the beautiful blossoms. However, if you are not exposed to this idea, and if it is not practiced, explored, and tested out, it cannot work for you. It needs conscious intention behind it in order to be aware enough to use one’s own life as a laboratory of emotional and psychological vigilance and awareness.

Strangely enough, doing the simplest of meditations helps with this cosmic truth. Sitting, relaxing, feeling the ground and the Law of Gravity, and then watching the breath as if it’s the most important thing in the world. Feeling its delicate, smooth (or un-smooth!), undulating motions course through our being. As we observe this movement through our body, we reserve ‘The Judge’ for just a few moments, if possible — not allowing ‘The Judge’ to do what it does best, aiming not to allow it to have the usual hold on us, or just loosen its grip on us. Watch. Be. Do nothing. Be nothing. Allow. Breathe.

Do that for some minutes everyday. If not everyday, shoot for a 3 times a week, and then your natural rhythm and intuition will tell you when and how long to do it — but remember that if your ego is still in control of your life, it will always try to cutoff any connection to knowing our deepest and truest self, so be sure it’s intuition and not laziness. Then, after some weeks of practice — for some it may be months, or it may be almost immediately — see if you can apply this information of how a ‘negative emotion’ can be used for fertilizer in your life, and decide for yourself if this true.

If you try it and feel like sharing your experience, drop me a note, I would love to hear about it. :)

“What’s encouraging about meditation is that even if we shut down, we can no longer shut down in ignorance. We see very clearly that we’re closing off. That in itself begins to illuminate the darkness of ignorance.” -Pema Chodron

Are You a Spirit Junkie?

February 26th, 2011

“Self-approval and self-acceptance in the now are the main keys to positive changes in every area of our lives.” – Louise Hay

So great to have Laura Gevanter from PresentTenseCoaching.com on our show! Laura has helped us manage the show for many months now and it’s great to have her involvement evolve as the show evolves. As usual, we were in gales of laughter even before the show started and, also as usual, it continued throughout the show. What could be better than that? Enjoying ourselves, work-playing the show and talking about what we all are most passionate about!

Laura presented a very well thought out theme about self help junkies — how to know if you are a self help junkie, and what to do if the answer is yes! I am definitely a somewhat reformed self help/spirit junkie and I think there are MUCH worse things to be! Please click the player below or follow the link to the Blog Talk Radio website to listen to the show!

One point that Laura made, and that I want to revisit here in this post, is how important self acceptance is. Without it we really don’t have much, which may sound harsh but I really believe it to be true. I have gone through many different stages of self acceptance in my life and the truth is that when I have been self accepting of my Self — or my circumstances, things seemingly out of my control, other people, the weather, everything, etc. — my life has worked as if the hand of God was there all along. Conversely, when I am not accepting of my Self — or others, circumstances, etc. — it has seemed as if I have opened up a highway to hell and I just can’t seem to do anything right! So, I spend time making sure I am in a self acceptance practice, a practice that includes accepting things outside my Self, as well. It really is the first step to making any significant change in our lives. If we go straight to trying to make change we end up meeting Mr. Second Force (Holy Denying Force) in a big, big way! If you are not familiar with the term ‘Second Force’, read this: Gurdjieff’s Law of Three. However, if we ACCEPT our selves and our circumstances — and, if you are really going for the Holy Grail, take responsibility for them and ourselves — change, and potentially awe-inspiring change is available in a way that will shake your tree!

Please understand me, this does not mean that I am suggesting ‘to accept’ and stop there. Acceptance is the starting point, the next step is ‘Aiming’. An arrow can only hit the target if the aim is on the target. When we are all caught up with how we aren’t good or worthy enough — living the ‘I can’t’ attitude — other people aren’t good to us, and our aim is WAY OFF! However, acceptance leads to awareness of our AIM. Knowing what we want in life, visualizing it in a crystal clear way, being aware of our intuition, based on knowing our Life Purpose, now we are getting somewhere, now we are coming Alive and all the powers that be will be aligned to help us achieve all we want in life!

OK, well that just happens to be the way I believe it works and it serves me greatly. Do you accept your Self? What are you Aiming at? What is your Life Purpose?

“Nothing is likely to help a person overcome or endure troubles than the consciousness of having a purpose in life.” ~ Victor Frankl

Heal Your Inner Self Help Junkie!

February 25th, 2011

Are you a “Self-Help Junkie”? Does this sound like you? A new book or CD comes out that promises to finally help you overcome what it is that has been holding you back from living the life you want. You can’t get to the computer fast enough to order it (or better yet, run on over the nearest bookstore). You’ve read almost every book in the self-help aisle and yet you really aren’t any better off than where you were before (just less hundreds of dollars). You get your wheels spinning and yet you don’t seem to be moving forward. But they promised! What’s up with that?

I realized not too long ago that I was a former “Self-Help Junkie”. I read all the books, collected LOTS of information and yet was still reading more books. I started to explore this and realized that there were some things missing in most Self-Help/Self Improvement approaches. First and foremost that there is something wrong with you that needs to be fixed. Being a Law Of Attraction based Life Coach, I saw some missing links. There were some very simple yet very profound questions that were being overlooked. Taking action (which is the basis of most Self-Help books) that is not from a feel-good place, is not going to get you very fair and may even set you up to fail.

On the Matt & Phil Weekly LOA Blog Talk Radio this week, we discussed what these missing links are and how to stop spinning your wheels and gain some traction to get what you want and live the life you desire. My website is PresentTenseCoaching.com. I offer a complimentary 30-minute private coaching session.

We had our first panel for this past week for our LOA and Weight Loss show and it was great fun! Huge thanks goes out to:

  • Our new friend Suyin Nichols, an amazing Thought Coach from San Matteo, CA who joined us for the first time. SuyinNichols.com

  • My good friend, Loni Markman from Elements of Fit, in Brooklyn, NY who is my personal Integrative Nutrition Consultant. ElementsOfFit.com

  • My good friend who introduced Phil and I, Jenn Edden from JE Coaching, works out of Huntington, NY and focuses on helping super busy Mom business owners. JECoaching.com

What a great way to do a show — getting magnificent professionals on the same call has no way to go but fun, inspiring and motivational places! I realized more than ever before how individual our own health paths are, and how important it is to have someone that really knows their business help guide us through the process like the professionals mentioned above.

I have been on the path of wellness for over 20 years, after graduating from Holistic College. I have been studying health, nutrition and energy for decades, yet it is always a ‘coming back’ and a new learning as my body changes, my mind and heart change.

I feel better than I have in many years working with Loni, being patient and kind to my Self, and trusting that the more I relax, the more relief I allow, the more joy I engage in, the more Love I give and receive, the gentler I am with myself — especially when I am feeling vulnerable or unsure of myself — the more I integrate my body with the other more subtle parts of who I am, the more Whole I become. The more whole I feel, the more I attract similar emotions and experiences so that I can continue this journey of self exploration in relationship to my body, my life and my health.

This show was so good for me, personally, I truly hope and pray it helps others as well on their journey to wholeness, health and love of the Self. Listen to Weight Loss, Nutrition, Fitness and LOA below.

What is Abundance… to You?

February 18th, 2011

Believe it can be done. When you believe something can be done, really believe, your mind will find the ways to do it. Believing a solution paves the way to solution. – Dr. David Schwartz

This was a super fun show as it always is when the illimitable Jeannette Maw of GoodVibeBlog.com is on with us!

It is always so interesting to me that we have these words like abundance, wealth, love, hate, passion, excitement, spirit, soul, God, etc., and yet, how often do we really spend time to explore what they mean to us individually? How often do we engage in conversation with those people we respect and listen to their opinion about these subjects?

I often daydream that I must have been one of Socrates students because I absolutely cannot get enough of exploring spiritual/philosophical/relationship/communication/God, etc types of subjects. Especially the word: Abundance. For me, in a way, it encompasses words like God, spirit, joy, happiness, all the words above and many more. Abundance is actually what life is to me, when I have the eyes to see it, believe it, feel it and allow it in to unfold as my life.

I believe more deeply more than I have ever before that our beliefs about any subject are one of the most important factors we have to explore if we are truly interested in making paradigm shifts in our lives.

(If you happen to be looking for a coach to help you with ‘Beliefs’ specifically be sure to reach out to our Production Manager on the show, Laura Gevanter, PresentTenseCoaching.com, 516.652.6154.)

Please listen in to our latest show, What is Real Abundance?, and let us know what you think of the show as Phil, Jeannette and I explore abundance in some deep and unique ways. I will leave you with a great piece by Shel Silverstein:

Listen to the mustn’ts child.
Listen to the don’ts.
Listen to the shouldn’t haves,
the impossibles, the won’ts.
Listen to the never haves,
then listen close to me.
Anything can happen child.
Anything can be.

Know Your Soul Language

February 4th, 2011

What a great opportunity we had during this week’s show! Jennifer Urezzio, from KnowSoulsLanguage.net, is an amazing intuitive with deep wisdom to share.

Most of our shows are very focused on LOA — we certainly did touch base on LOA several times in the show — however, this show was slightly different. We learned a tremendous amount about how Jennifer works with clients and how she developed her program of Soul Languages, of which there are 107! Similar to personality traits, we all have 3 distinct languages that express who we are on a soul level, and listening to her discuss the process is truly beautiful. From some of her responses to our questions, I was able to get a sense about how much she truly cares for her clients — and having been one, I know this first-hand.

Several years ago, Jennifer worked with my business partner and I as an intuitive business coach; what a truly eye opening experience. She helped us to see that our business issues were really just a matter of being different people with different communication styles, and I found it very helpful for my business partnership. I continued to work with Jennifer on my own after that, listening to some group classes, and she even invited me to speak about “Forgiveness”. (Please read my Forgiveness blog for more on this topic.)

Jennifer helped me to truly inhabit who I was on the inside: the Lover, the Friend, the Avatar, and someone who wants to share a divine mission with the world. I credit my work with Jennifer to be one of the reasons that I decided to take the step with the Matt & Phil LOA Show. (There are others who have influenced my decision, but that is for another post!) She helped me to see the courage that I already had and that by taking steps towards what I really felt was important, I couldn’t fail.

So, Thank You, Jennifer. Bless You.

I would highly suggest for anyone that is feeling the need to receive intuitive guidance to reach out to Jennifer and take advantage of her 100% free 15 minute consultation. Remember, you are worth it!

Listen to our show (below) and you will get a great idea of what it would be like to work with her.

Man is a knot into which relationships are tied. ~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Tonight’s show is really one of my favorite topics: relationships. We can’t get away from them, in a way our lives are all a series of relationships. No wonder our romantic most intimate relationships are what we care most about — especially early in our lives. Relationships enlighten us, inspire us, expose and uplift us and they knock us down harder than anything else. Guess they are pretty important, huh?! :)

There are many fun topics when it comes to relationships, and we discussed a bunch in our show tonight. One that I would like address here is the relationship we have to our Self. What we see and experience as great experiences, rip roaring fights, depressing, painful and even ecstatic heights all begin with what we are. It’s what we bring from inside ourselves to our relationships that creates the final dish — like any recipe, it’s a combination of the ingredients. As we change the ingredients the dish changes. So, if we bring all our parent and family emotional baggage, our great and terrible aspects of our past relationships to our current ones, guess what? It’s going to be hodge podge of everything we and they bring to it. The opportunity lies in becoming aware enough of ourselves, endeavoring to explore who we are, what we want, understanding where we want to go with our lives that will help us continue to grow and develop as human beings in relationship.

This practice is ancient and represented by the Oracle at Delphi: “Know Thyself”. This simple two word aphorism truly says it all. Another version I enjoy is: “Thine own self thou must know.” Regardless of the phrasing, the power that we have in practicing introspection, self awareness and self realization is, in my opinion, the most divine practice we have available. It is a profound practice of self love and it’s a gift to ourselves and the world is one that will keep on giving all during our lives and beyond. The quote below can tell us quite a bit about who we are, ask it and watch your mind and follow where it goes. Listen to the show (below), and let us know what you think.

If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting? ~Stephen Levine

Pets Are Our Teachers

January 26th, 2011

Doing our latest radio show on pets, animals and LOA, really helped me see what an opportunity that pets and animals in can be just as partners in life as well as great LOA teachers. Here are some things we identified during the show:

Pets — for the time being, we mean cats and dogs — are:

  • Unconditionally Loving
  • Accepting
  • Adaptable
  • Present
  • Open
  • Happy
  • Great Attractors
  • Focused
  • Aware

The list could go on but that is enough for us to see that we have a great opportunity by being aware and present with our furry friends! I personally have a special affinity for dogs, growing up with Golden Retrievers and German Shepards has been a huge benefit in life. There were times when I felt like no one loved me but my dog, Thank God they were there to love me at a very crucial time in my young development. I learned quite a bit about love and loyalty from my dogs and I continue to appreciate their presence in our human lives.

Listen in below for much more.

Love, Compassion, and Caring

January 25th, 2011

Below is blog post from a good friend who has one of the most beautiful hearts I have ever been around. He is one of those people that you just can’t help but feel better when you are in his presence, and when you look into his eyes you see a man who has loved, and lost, but loved again ever more deeply. He is one of the most fun musicians that I have ever been around. I hope you enjoy his thoughts as much as I do. I am very grateful for people like him in my life.

Martin Luther King and LOA

January 17th, 2011

At the center of non-violence stands the principle of love.
- Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King Day, has become one of the most important days of the year for me. Studying the man, his life and his words has become a great passion for me. The same as it has been to study people like: Jesus, Gandhi, Abraham, Isiah, Gurdjieff, Buddha, Rumi, Hafiz, Epicticus and so on. I believe that his name will live on long after we are gone and people will revere him for many centuries if not longer.

MLK was a visionary, he saw what was possible and he believed that he focused enough, had enough faith, and visualized his truth, that it would all become realized. I think we can all learn from that and apply it to our own lives. We don’t need to have a vision like his or have it be quite so grand, however, we can take the principles he used and learn from them.

Other than his complete body of work his “I have a dream” speech shows these aspects very clearly. He talks of the past and how the African American community is still stuck, even though they are free, talks about how important it is to focus their civil rights actions: “on the high plane of dignity and discipline.” He then goes into what his dream is and he describes it in detail:

“I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.”

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today.”

He adds to his dream with more details, you can read more here: USConstitution.net/dream. Then MLK does something that shows his faith in a beautiful light, he starts to proclaim his dream, his vision as truth by saying:

“This is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

This will be the day when all of God’s children will be able to sing with a new meaning, “My country, ’tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim’s pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring.”

As he continues on he is actually proclaiming this to already be true, he already sees his vision realized, finished, beautiful and complete. The man is nothing else if not persistent! (Here is a link to Matthew’s audio download on Persistence.)

“So let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York. Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania!

Let freedom ring from the snow capped Rockies of Colorado!

Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California!….

Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi. From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

And when this happens, when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God’s children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, “Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!”

At the end of the speech he is making space in to “allow” his vision, and then he is acting “as if” by saying the words “when this happens”. Which allows the subconscious mind to make all the connections between the different aspects of his vision, and plants the seeds of inspiration for others who want the same vision. Really quite beautiful the way MLK set this speech up, its a great example of what we can do for our own lives by:

  1. Knowing what we want and visualizing it.
  2. Being persistent regardless of resistance internally or externally.
  3. Having faith that it will come to pass.
  4. Stating that it will come to pass and all the great things that will come along with it.

Truth AND Consequences

January 17th, 2011

What’s the nature of truth? What determines what is true? Is it true because it exists? Because we have seen it with our own eyes, felt it with our own hands, tasted it with our own mouths? Truly, we get to determine what is true for us or not — others may agree with us, or perhaps they don’t — but does that really matter? It matters to the degree we believe it does.

Say we go to the doctor and he tells us we have some dis-ease. We feel fine — we feel no pain, we look and act the same — but the tests show it’s “true”. The doctor tells us what to expect and because we believe in medical science and that the doctor MUST know more about us than we do — after all he’s went to many years of medical school and many years of “practice” — he’s the expert, right? — we believe him. If you think like many people you accept the diagnosis and begin shortly demonstrating the symptoms that “confirm” that the doctor is right.

The deeper truth is that we are creating the circumstances in our bodies at all times and although at the moment the doctor took the tests that he is basing his diagnosis upon we may have been showing signs that would look like we are manifesting this disease it is also true that our bodies are fully capable of adjusting and correcting the situation if we allow it to by focusing on well being. But rather than focus on well being we are now filled with fear and anxiety based upon this expert opinion and that very state is denying the well being that would otherwise be there and that state is bring about the very disease the doctor said we had!

Until we own our power — until we realize that when it comes to us, WE are the experts, the ultimate authority AND creator of every and all circumstances in our lives we will continue to manifest life situations in which we appear to be a “victim” until we finally see the falseness of that belief!

The Truth is that the Truth IS — the isness or beingness is True and undeniable — the details of that creation are completely up to us and are as true as we choose to make them — consciously or unconsciously — it’s up to us.

What is the Truth?

January 13th, 2011

The Truth is more important than the facts. – Frank Lloyd Wright

Last night Phil and I discussed “The Truth”. It has always been an interesting topic that my mind loved to peruse. Think about when you argue with someone you love, someone you know that wouldn’t lie to you, yet they are disagreeing with you and not remembering things the same way, even though you know that you are right and they are wrong. Are you really right? Or, do they just remember a different truth? What about eyewitness testimony? Here is an article about the discrepancies and the inaccuracy of eyewitness testimony: The Accuracy of Eye Witness Testimony and Its Flaws.

Is it possible that as we remember our lives — under stress, excitement, and possibly even fear — that our brains may change the information? What did you do on April 13, 1992? You may not remember, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Have you ever forgotten what you ate the day before? Or what you did? Have you ever misplaced your keys? Why didn’t you remember? Did you ever do anything and as soon as you were done you felt terrible, knowing it wasn’t the right decision? Why did you do it? If you knew the second you were done, why didn’t you know the second before you did it?

Hopefully you see where I am going with this: the Beautiful Mind that we have is a very fickle instrument. However we can learn how to use our minds in more efficient ways, and we can create new neural pathways. I invite you to check this guy out: Dr. Joe Dispenza has done amazing research into the brain and how it works.

Our brains effect everything we do, see, experience and feel in life. It makes sense to understand how it works and how you can direct it to be a divine tool — an antennae tuned into the station that you want hear, that is discussing how you can get where you want to be in your life.

“Before the throne of the Almighty, man will be judged not by his acts but by his intentions. For God alone reads our hearts.”
- Mohandas Gandhi

Well, Gandhi sure has a way of getting right to the point. Intentions are Powerful, just ask Gandhi! :) Did you make any intentions for the new year? I know that I did and know that my life is better because of that action. Here is the definition of the word ‘intention’:

“A course of action that one intends to follow, an aim that guides action, an observable action, an objective. A quality of purposefulness.”

We all have desires, or wishes for our lives, right? Well, have you made an intention to experience that desire? Are you going to be that type of person that really goes for what they want or someone who stays on the sidelines? Setting intentions, following through and being consistent and persistent are some of the ways to use the Law of Attraction to experience what we want most for our lives. Below is a 4 step process to setting intentions and receiving into our lives what matters most to us.

Step 1: Know what you want!

The universe nor anyone else can give you what you want unless you are clear and specific about what you want! C’mon, when is the last time you sat down with pen and paper for 15-20 minutes and wrote down what you really, really, really want?!!! Trust me it’s worth it; it’s more than worth it. That simple act alone, can change your vibration, which will change your allowing and open up possibilities you never dreamed of! Don’t forget: WRITE IT DOWN! This is very important, just like writing a business or marketing plan, we can have all the great ideas in the world but we need a place to plant the next seed — writing down is that place!

Step 2: Know the Feeling that you want!

OK, we know what we want now, right? Now, we have to determine what the feeling is that we hope to experience by receiving the ‘what’ in step 1. Is it Freedom, Stability, Success, Love, or Peace? We all want all sorts of different things in life: relationships, jobs, careers, businesses, cars, homes, connection with the Source, travel, vacations, homes, experiences, etc. However, we want all of those things because of the FEELING that we think we will get to experience if we have that specific thing that we want. So, it makes perfect sense to connect more deeply with that Feeling. For example, if the feeling is Freedom, where else are you already experiencing Freedom in your life? Where have you experienced Freedom in the past? (And yes, it will help you manifest by writing all this down!) How might you experience Freedom in the future? See how this is helpful? You have already experienced Freedom, you are experiencing it right now in the present, and there are ways that you will experience it in the future!

Step 3: Believe it, See it, Feel GREAT about it!

Now you know what you want and you know the feeling that you are hoping to experience. Take some time to really picture Freedom in your mind’s eye. Michael Jordan did it, Einstein did it, Jesus did it, and so can you. See what you want in your mind, picture yourself experiencing Freedom, being happy and joyful, laughing, see who else you want to be with you as you experience it, visualize who you will tell about the experience, see where you will be, and what you will be doing, notice what are you wearing, what you can see, hear and smell in this space, really connect with this. Do this as much as possible, in the morning when you wake up, before you go to sleep so your subconscious can work on bringing this into your life. Have fun with it, and trust me it’s better than watching Jersey Shore on TV!

Step 4: God favors the bold!

Take some action. Trust that what you do will help lead you to where you want to be. Taking action, writing it down, making that phone call, sending that email, researching that subject, creating an outline of a plan, reading that book on the subject, googling it, WHATEVER, JUST DO IT!!!! Take the step, have faith, follow through, be persistent, trust your Self, be confident, be committed. Who else has done what you want to experience? Read about them, take a class, study them research them, rent the video. Remember, every action that we take towards our intention brings it closer to us, and the world and the universe will want to give it to us. Don’t wait, start today, as a matter of fact, stop EVERYTHING else and go for it like you have never gone for anything else before your life! Watch what happens, I am sure you will be happy you did.

Listen to Phil and I go into the whole subject of Intentions, Goals and what they can do for your life! All is Well, The Source is Good, All things are possible…..

“You have to know the past to understand the present.” – Carl Sagan

Resolutions have gotten a bad rap in the last few years, and I agree for most part, very few people seem to really follow through on their resolutions and, therefore, are building a pattern of not following through. I know I have set them many years, only a few have I truly followed through on and stayed committed to throughout the year. However, I am a goal oriented person, so my my mind is always wanting to make some plans for the next year and really think about what’s coming up. I think it can be a good practice, especially when we focus on more than just weight loss or doing more exercise! That should be a given for most of us in this country, because even if you aren’t overweight, chances are you are weak, out of shape and inflexible!

I have found a way to feel really great about making some resolutions, goals, intentions, and whatever you want to call it. This process is really about making peace with the year that has just past, before jumping ahead to the future. We often forget how much we can help our present and future by addressing the past in the present. Phil and I discuss this for a whole radio show, which you can see a recap and listen to in my What Does the Past Mean for Today blog post.

What I do every year now is carve out a few minutes of alone time to really consider what has transpired in the past year within my life — the good, the bad and the super ugly! I notice how some of the things that seemed good, weren’t as good as I originally thought, and how the things that were bad and super ugly actually turned out to be magnificent blessings in disguise. I always like to ponder this reality, of course its not true for all things, at least within the first year, but even with the super ugly things I can almost always find a silver lining, if I am really honest with myself. Then, I really hone in on all the really wonderful and amazing things that have transpired — even the simple ones, like how no asteroid has hit the planet earth and we are still here! I range from the super intimate to the silly and fun; I just let my mind really roll around in it. I usually have my eyes closed, and I just start smiling and laughing to myself, and then I laugh more because I think about what someone would think if they saw me looking like Ray Charles in mid song! Then, as part of the process or ritual, I like to burn some paper or pick up some dirt and let it blow in the wind to acknowledge Nature, Earth, and the passing of time. I allow appreciation to fill my heart for all I have been given in the past year — and in my whole life — and I say out loud: Thank you.

Now I feel ready to move on to my resolutions and goals in a really clear and powerful way, if I am going to do them!

Make peace with the past and with the present; be grateful and appreciate what you have been given what you do have.

I share this quote below in no religious way; frankly, any quote I share is never about religion, but is always about consciousness about how the universe and life work for us as human beings. I truly believe this quote below and I have watched it work in my life thousands of times, I hope it can work for you too.

“For whoever has, to him more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him.” – Matthew 13:12

December 31st, 2010

This was my third interaction with Frank Butterfield and the Communion of Light. All of the experiences have been powerful but Wednesday night takes the cake! I had questions about: getting things done, achieving and seeing results, and I was floored by the answers I received. They came in the analogy of lumberjacks and baking but I am a big fan of crazy wisdom! We discussed the idea of “handing things off to the universe,” which I think sounds great, but practically I have always had trouble with this even though I have seen it work in my life. I still have resistance to it!

Yup, I am still very much a work in progress, but aren’t we all? Doesn’t seem like we could be static if we wanted to be, we are always growing or dying, expanding or contracting, allowing or resisting. We discussed the Power of Imagination, Visualization, Loving What is and so much more. Listen to Phil, Laura and I talk with Frank and the Communion of Light. Attention Equals Love

December 21st, 2010

“The greatest gift you can give another is the purity of your attention.” – Richard Moss

I believe that the more we become aware of what we are thinking and feeling and watching what we put our attention on, the more we can see and understand things about ourselves and what we love. In other posts, I often come back to our ‘attention’. Just to be clear here is the definition from dictionary.com:

attention:

1. the act or faculty of attending, esp. by directing the mind to an object.
a. a concentration of the mind on a single object or thought, esp. one preferentially selected from a complex, with a view to limiting or clarifying receptivity by narrowing the range of stimuli.
b. a state of consciousness characterized by such concentration.
c. a capacity to maintain selective or sustained concentration.

The reason that I focus so much of what I discuss on awareness and attention is because I have the belief that if we are aware of what we are focusing our attention on, we know what direction our lives are heading. If we know that, we can do anything! This universe is mysterious, beautiful and absolutely wild! By putting attention on different subjects we are, in a way, ‘loving’ whatever we are focusing our attention on.

“Attention is the most basic form of love; through it we bless and are blessed.” – John Tarrant

Yes, it’s not romantic love, or family or friend love, but love nonetheless. We are using our precious life moments to think, feel, and experience whatever it is that we happen to be dealing with that day or moment. So, if you spend your days doing things you don’t like, or spending time with people you don’t particularly like, guess what?! Somehow you are loving those things, even though you may not ‘like’ them. Is that what you want? When you look back at your life what do you want to see??????

Decide that, and then put your heart, your being, and your very soul into it, and never look back.

Football and Spirituality?!

December 20th, 2010

This weeks radio show was a better time than usual (which is saying A LOT because we always have a good time!); having a bunch of our good peeps in house always makes it better. Katie couldn’t stay for the show but made it to dinner and that’s our pre-show prep!

This show was really the first of its kind, talking in depth about sports and spirituality. The basic idea that Phil had when he came up with the idea for the show is that people feel more connected to who they truly are by being a football fan at a game than by going to church or going to the synagogue. I was a little skeptical at first but it ended up being a very interesting show to be the host of, observing my own resistance in the beginning and watching it dissolve as I opened up to the truth that I have seen and experienced while being at many games over the years. Why is it that people can become more connected with themselves and their neighbor at a game or a convert? Something seems out of whack, right? It all comes down to:

Vibration!!!!!!

(For more on this subject go to this post: Vibrational Essence Show)

When you and others are in a peak state, feeling excited, passionate, emotional, visualizing, no matter where you are or what you are doing it will be a special experience! Why don’t we see that at most churches? Well, not sure we have enough space here for that! Give the show a listen and let us know what you think. Would love to get feedback on the first show of its kind!

Where is Your Focus?

December 13th, 2010

“Concentration is the secret of strength” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

I was thinking after a long day of helping my parents put up Christmas decorations, doing some of that at home as well, some shopping, a few hours of work for the marketing business, and frankly I just wanted to crash on the couch watch some football and sci-fi shows and do nothing else the rest of the night. Then I remembered something:

My Focus = My Life

There are no two ways about it, what you focus on is what your life becomes. This life and universe just happen to be set up that way and as far as I can tell there is nothing we can do about it but use the Law in our favor. I realized that if I stayed on the couch, as tired as my brain was, as sore as my body was, as lazy as I was feeling that if I stayed there that is what I would be putting out to the world, a couple of TV shows, get tired and go to bed. That is NOT what i want to give to this world, to my family, friends, clients or to my Self.

Once I remembered that my focus would equal my life, that thought sparked another about the Butterfly Effect. I have written about this before in my Cause and Effect blog post. The Butterfly Effect is the idea that by some small action can have an enormous, even cataclysmic effect somewhere else. The most common saying is that by the effect of a Butterflies wings in one area of the world a tornado could be prompted in another part of the world. It based on the idea of cascading events, ripple effects and chain reactions that we can never see before they occur.

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought.” – Buddha

What happens if we apply these two ideas simultaneously to our lives?

  1. Our Focus = Our Life
  2. Small changes in one part of our lives could have tremendous effects elsewhere in our lives.

Well, for #1 its really quite simple: whatever we put our attention on, whatever we concentrate on, whatever it is we aim at achieving ends up being the aspects of life that we draw in, experience, feel and think about. LOA 101, right? If you are not up to speed on LOA 101, please go here for an interesting interpretation by Dr. Wayne Dyer. OK, now let’s add in the idea that small changes can have large effects on our life. What if our attention, our laser focus, was on bettering our lives anyway we knew how? What if we had that focus everyday for at least a few minutes a day? Could that constancy of purpose, that persistence be the thing that helps us to reach our Tipping Point? (Another fun idea actually!)

We all want things for our lives, right? We all want some sort of job, relationship, peace, money, freedom, house, etc. How are we going to experience those things? By staying the same? By NOT focusing on what we want, what we hope, wish and pray for? No. We are going to get it by:

  1. Knowing very clearly what it is that we want, knowing what we are ‘Aiming’ for.
  2. Focusing some attention on this, if not everyday, at least several times per week.
  3. Talking, feeling, thinking, praying, concentrating, putting effort towards these desires on a consistent basis.
  4. Having a never give up attitude, being persistent
  5. Realizing the time is NOW.

I could have stayed on the couch, I could have let my dreams for my life stay on the sideline, I could have used all of my excuses, but I did not, and I hope you do not either.

Give to Your Self

December 9th, 2010

“The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely” – Carl Gustav Jung

Tonight’s show was a whole lot of a good time. I really, really enjoyed doing this show because it feels spot on. If we don’t feel good about ourselves, our lives, and our state of mind, what can we really give to others?

Here are 3 quick ways to work with this:

1. Become aware of what you feel.

What is the emotion? If you cannot feel anything, you could be numb. It may take some time of being aware and checking in with your self to really know what you are feeling.

2. Accept whatever it is that you feel.

We often are too quick to try and change something we are feeling or ignore what we experience, take a moment to really experience whatever it is you are feeling. Close your eyes and look inside.

3. Decide what you need.

After becoming aware and experiencing whatever it is that you are feeling, ask your self: “What is it I need now? What would be the best decision for my life in this moment?” You might be surprised to hear what your response is!

Phil and I go into this and much more during our show. We discuss Spiritual Selfishness, which will be the topic of a future blog post. Give a listen and let us know what you think!

Give to your SELF this holiday season.

“Managing our emotions increases intuition and clarity. It helps us self-regulate our brain chemicals and internal hormones. It gives us natural highs, the real fountain of youth we’ve been searching for. It enables us to drink from elixirs locked within our cells, just waiting for us to discover them.” – Doc Childre

Emotions are so deeply ingrained in to our personal experience that we often barely notice that they are working in us 24/7. It reminds me of they way breath is always happening in our bodies and without it we would be gone from this planet within a few minutes, yet how often do we really focus on our breath? And your emotions? Right, I thought so. :)

There are two authors who I think have done an amazing job exploring emotion, how it works through our lives, and the potential that lies in working with our emotions.

The first is Daniel Goleman, who became famous when he wrote the book Emotional Intelligence: Why it Can Matter More Than IQ, which you can see more of on Amazon. It’s a book about the brain, neuroscience and how we as a society have been enamored with IQ instead of taking into consideration emotional intelligence, especially when many of our leaders, and best success stories are not the people who got straight A’s, or did exactly what they were told in the first 18 years of life. However, many of these people are the emotionally intelligent — the more aware of themselves, their surroundings and of others rather than simply complete brainiacs!

You can see much more about Daniel Goleman here at his site: DanielGoleman.info

The second is Raphael Cushnir who has written several great books: The One Thing Holding You Back, and Setting Your Heart on Fire are two of my favorites. These books are practical and more in depth in what emotions really are and how to work with them to better understand ourselves. Here are the links to his books and website: Cushnir.com

Phil and I enjoyed exploring the powerful subject of emotions and how they work in our lives last night in our show, Emotions! How they Super Charge our Vibration. Give a listen and remember, emotions are like the breath: always there, waiting to be found.

Following your feelings will lead you to their source. Only through emotions can you encounter the force field of your own soul.
- Gary Zukav, Author of The Seat of the Soul

On Thanksgiving Eve what else is there to discuss? It may get overdone, overwhelming and downright annoying with the media, and everyone else saying, ”Be Grateful” during this time of year. Well, we have the antidote to that on the radio show link below!

Sure, you can direct your mind to feeling good, being grateful and it can be tremendously helpful as a daily practice. However, what is also absolutely necessary to feeling good is accepting what is, what we are feeling in the moment, recognizing this and not forcing ourselves to do or be or anything other than what we are in the moment. If we feel sad or depressed, have anxiety or fears that are dominating us, allow them in. It’s the only way to move on to a higher vibration, to face what we really feel deep inside us, feel it in our bones, our hearts and our guts. This exploration, awareness, and acceptance is what then allows the energy to have the life that it needs so we can then process it and move on to a better feeling place.

We all want to feel good, right? What other drive is there in this human existence? We want to experience pleasure, comfortableness, and be inspired, be grateful, be happy, be joyous, ecstatic, content, and — plug in whatever word works for you that means: Feeling Good. We also want to avoid PAIN. Often, the fear of pain, the fear of the unknown, worrying, etc. will keep us in a state of unrest, chaos, and confusion. However, if we practice accepting where we are, gently and lovingly exploring our fears, our pains, our confusion, with the aim of feeling better, and eventually being grateful for what this contrast has taught us, we will be moving into a different state of being.

We discuss this concept and oh so much more on this version of the Matt and Phil LOA show with our SUPER special guest Jeannette Maw from Good Vibe University. Listen in now Living Gratitude, Appreciation, and Thankfulness… and Special Guest!

Good Vibe University

November 23rd, 2010

I have been playing this LOA game for some years now, from studying Abraham, Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, James Arthur Ray, Mike Dooley, Gregg Braden, Michael Beckwith, Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins and all the usual suspects and others from The Secret. I have always dreamed of a community where all the different wonderful life lessons from these teachers could be explored, discussed, debated, and experienced. Well, guess what? It exists! It’s called Good Vibe University, GoodVibeUniversity.com, here is how they describe themselves on their site:

Good Vibe U is a virtual gathering to master the art of manifesting, and invoke our powers to create reality. GVU grew from these desires:

1. To share, leverage and expand our experience and expertise. As a group we are a force to be reckoned with — more vital and effective than any individual guru or expert. Together we are more supported, more knowledgeable, and more powerful! Tapping into this group synergy is like nothing else.

2. It’s common wisdom in the personal development field that we are who we hang out with. By mixing with fellow creators, we enhance our manifesting habits.

3. To have a strong impact in leading and inspiring deliberate creators to embrace their powers to manifest reality.

4. To make law of attraction coaching and resources more affordable and more accessible for everyone who wants it.

I think they have succeeded in following through on all 4 desires! I don’t get on there everyday or even every week but every time I do, my vibration increases significantly — I am happier, feel more connected and more alive. There are calls every week with different coaches, teachers, and ‘manifesters’ in the making — all sorts of information, tips, classes, downloads, videos on LOA, relationships, money, and life in general! Not to mention you might run into Matt, Phil or Lady G (Laura Gevanter, PresentTenseCoaching.com) over there! :)

The founder and creator of this site is the amazing Jeannette Maw; she has been involved with Law of Attraction and similar ideas for many years and she has a magnificent, loving way about her; she has helped hundreds if not thousands of people with their manifesting practices throughout the years. Jeannette has a really great blog that you can see here: GoodVibeBlog.com

Here is Jeannette’s coaching website: GoodVibeCoach.com

So, if you are into exploring the Law of Attraction and are interested in connecting with an amazing group of individuals, please join the group — and say hello to me in the forums! What are you waiting for? Click one of the links above to join the good vibes!

Keeping Score

November 22nd, 2010

God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say “thank you”?
~William A. Ward

This show had a different focus than what we usually discuss. We all know that ultimately we want physical results to align with our feelings so we have that inner/outer experience of what is desired, but the process of saying: Where is it? Why is it taking so long? Why isn’t it better? If we go through this process too often it can really make it harder for ourselves to be in the space of appreciation, gratitude and joy. If we can practice to be consistently focused on what we do like, what we are happy about, what we want, what we wish for our lives THAT is going to be the practice that actually helps us receive what we want most in this life. Keeping score is certainly necessary at some point but daily and weekly is not going to help. Spending energy, time and focus on what we want most, visualizing it, feeling it in our hearts sand minds is going to wonders for us. Listen to this show to hear a bunch more on the subject.

Live well and breathe,
